Is Your Social Media Actually Working for Your Business?

Social Media Business Audit Checklist.png

Take the free Social Media Business Audit and find out what's working, what's missing and where your biggest opportunities are.

It's easy to judge your social media by how often you post, how many followers you have or how many likes your posts receive.

But those numbers don't tell you everything.

Your social media can look busy and still fail to attract the right people, build trust or generate enquiries and sales.

This free audit will help you take a step back and look at your social media from a business perspective.

What will you be checking?

The audit takes you through 7 key areas of your social media:

Profile & Positioning

Can someone who discovers you quickly understand who you are, what you offer and whether you're relevant to them?

Content

Are you creating content with a purpose, or simply trying to think of something to post?

Audience & Engagement

Are you actually building relationships with the people you want to become customers?

Trust & Credibility

Does your social media give people enough reason to trust you and feel confident choosing your business?

Sales & Conversion

Does your social media make it easy for interested people to take the next step?

Consistency & Habits

Do you have a realistic way of keeping your social media moving alongside everything else you have to do?

Review & Improvement

Do you know what's working, what's not and what you should change?

It's more than a checklist.

The audit is designed to help you identify where your biggest opportunities are.

You might discover that your content is actually pretty strong, but your profile isn't making it clear what you offer.

Or perhaps you're posting consistently but giving people very few reasons to enquire or buy.

Or maybe your social media is doing a lot of work — but it's taking far too much of your time.

That's useful information.

Because you don't need to fix everything at once.

You need to know what to work on first.

Your free audit includes:

✓ 70 practical questions across 7 areas

✓ A simple scoring system

✓ Space to identify your strengths and weaknesses

✓ Guidance to help you interpret your results

✓ A simple way to choose your next three priorities

FAQs

What is a social media audit?

It's a tool that social media managers use to understand where an account is in terms of achieving its goals. It helps us to understand what is working, where goals aren't being met and ideas on what to improve.

How often should I audit my social media?

I recommend auditing your account once a year. Some things, like your profile bio, don't regularly need checking but you should keep on top of content topics, styles, captions and hashtags to know what needs changing and how customers are interacting with your business.

What should a small business look for in a social media audit?

You are looking for the gaps. For example, if you score well in the foundations but poor in conversions and sales, then you know that there is a disconnect between your product/services, and the customer. This might mean a focus on content that positions you as someone to trust, advertises your services directly or demonstrates social porof through testimonials that you are knowledgable.

Can I use this audit for Instagram?

You can use this audit for just about any social media platform as it is relatively generic.
